Tetris is arguably the most famous puzzle game in history, originally designed in the mid-1980s. Its universal appeal lies in its simplicity and the perfect balance between order and chaos. The game challenges players to organize falling geometric shapes into solid rows to keep the play area clear. It is a test of spatial intelligence, quick decision-making, and long-term planning under increasing pressure.

The core of Tetris revolves around seven different shapes known as Tetrominoes (labeled I, J, L, O, S, T, and Z). These blocks descend from the top of a rectangular field. As they fall, the player must rotate and move them horizontally to fit them into the existing structure at the bottom.

When a horizontal line is completely filled with blocks without any gaps, that line is cleared from the board, and the player earns points. Clearing multiple lines simultaneously—specifically four lines at once, known as a "Tetris"—yields the highest rewards. The game's difficulty scales automatically; as the player clears more lines, the blocks fall faster, leaving less time to analyze the best placement. The game ends ("Game Over") when the stack of blocks reaches the top of the playfield, preventing any new pieces from entering.
