Reversi is a classic strategy board game for two players, dating back to the late 19th century. It is widely recognized by the famous slogan: "A minute to learn, a lifetime to master." The game is played on an 8x8 uncheckered board using discs that are light on one side and dark on the other. It is a game of abstract strategy that challenges players to think several moves ahead, focusing on dynamic positioning and the constant shifting of power. This digital version provides a clean and intuitive interface, making it an excellent tool for sharpening logical thinking and tactical awareness.

The game begins with four discs placed in a specific diamond formation in the center of the grid. Players take turns placing a disc of their assigned color on an empty square. The core mechanic of Reversi is the "outflank": a move consists of placing a disc so that it traps one or more of the opponent's discs between itself and another disc of the current player's color in a continuous straight line (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal).

When an outflank occurs, all of the opponent's trapped discs are flipped to match the current player's color. This can lead to dramatic shifts in the board's appearance in a single turn. Strategic play often involves securing the corners and edges of the board, as these positions are permanent and cannot be flipped back. The game concludes when the board is completely filled or when neither player can make a legal move. The winner is the player who has more discs of their color on the board at the end of the match.
